Health - flu immunisation:

We recommend that you get immunised against the flu. Influenza usually strikes from May to September and it doesn't matter how fit and healthy you are- influenza is just as likely to hit you.

If you are 65 years or older you will be eligible for a FREE immunisation. It is also free if you have certain health conditions such as heart, lung or kidney conditions, or if you have had cancer.

Please phone and make an appointment to see the practice nurse. Vaccinations are only available until the end of July, so please be sure to have received yours by then. You will have to wait in the surgery for 20 minutes after the vaccination.

Benefits of being an enrolled patient:

A reminder that from 1st December 2018 there has been a reduction of fees for those holding a community services card (CSC) as well as an extension of zero fees to all enrolled patients under 14 years of age. That means substantially cheaper visits for those with a CSC and free visits for those 13 years and younger. It is essential to be enrolled with the practice to access these benefits.

This is part of government policy from Budget 2018, aiming to reduce barriers to accessing GP healthcare. We fully support this policy.

WINZ have extended eligibility for a CSC to all people receiving the accommodation supplement or who are tenants in social housing. If you believe you may be eligible for a CSC but do not hold one, please check your eligibility and apply via WINZ.
